Why Mobile Spray Tanning is Safer

Did you know that the ingredient in spray tanning solutions that changes your skin is called DHA? DHA works with the amino acids on the top layer of your skin to create a beautiful natural tan. It has also been shown to be extremely dangerous to the lungs!

This is a major concern because DHA is becoming aerosolized when airbrush application begins. Meaning not only is the client at risk for lung damage but so is the artist.

Here is how we work around this at Unfiltered Glow. Mobile Tanning is the answer. By leaving a studio space with inadequate ventilation and constant DHA particles filling the air (which can remain in the air for hours) we provide a safer space for our bodies.

When I arrive at a client’s home, we choose a place where we can crack a window. This can be a garage with the door just barely open, a bathroom, or a bedroom. This helps to replace stagnate air with a fresh air flow to better ventilate the space.

I also bring an extraction fan that helps to purify larger particles out of the air. I always recommend that my client wear nose filters as well which I bring complementary.
